The name of Louis Allain, a 44 year old blacksmith, appears in the 1698 census of Port Royal. Prior to that date his name appears on a marriage license notarized at Port Royal eleven years earlier.
Pierre Alain, born in 1723, settled in Louisiana following the Deportation of 1755-62.
