Also written: Arsenau, Arsonneau, Arseneau, Darsonneau, Arsenaux, Arseneault

Family Crest Pierre Arsenault, born in 1646, boarded the ship 'Oranger' at Rochfort. Shortly after his arrival at Port Royal in 1671 he relocated to Beaubassin (present-day Amherst) where he died around 1710.

Members of the second generation either stayed at Beaubassin or migrate to Ile St. Jean (today it is known as Prince Edward Island). Certain members of the third generation settled in Quebec or Miquelon. Pierre Arcenaux of the 4th generation, born in 1731, settled in Louisiana. Another of this generation (but of a different lineage) Pierre Arsenault, born in 1738, was deported to La Rochelle.
