Martin Benoist originally from France is present at Port Royal for the census of 1686. Joseph Benoit, born around 1732 was deported to Massachusetts and after exile he settled in Yamachiche (Quebec) probably around 1770. For her part, Anne Benoit would relocate to Belle-Ile-en-Mer, France after the Deportation of 1755 and would spend the remainder of her life there. |
