Forest

Also written: Déforest, Forêt, Foret.

Family Crest Michel de Forest arrived in Acadia in 1659 at the age of 33. From a first marriage he fathered six children, among them a son named René. He had another child, Marguerite, by a second marriage to Jacqueline Benoît in 1686.

Charles Forest (the name lost the 'de' in 1693) of Port Royal, the son of René de Forest, was deported to an unknown location. We later pick up his trail at Saint Jacques, Louisiana in 1766.
