Jehan Gaudet was registered at Port Royal in 1671; he was then 64 years old. In the early 1960's Geneviève Massignon estimated that there were 576 Acadian families with that name. The Gaudet, Hébert and LeBlanc families were united by matrimonial ties before leaving France. In Martinique Elisabeth Gaudet was registered as a deportee from Acadia. She died there on January 10, 1766.
