Poirier

Also written: Poirié, Poyrié et Pouérié

Family Crest Michel Poirié was registered at Port Royal in 1671. According to Geneviève Massignon this family came to Acadia from Martaizé (France) in 1634 at the earliest.

In 1765, at Belle-Île-en-Mer we find Joseph Poirier, 45 years old from Beaubassin, as well as his wife Ursule Renaud and their 5 children of which 4 were born after the deportation.
