Jean Potier, born in 1672 and listed on the Port Royal census of 1699, was married to Marie-Anne Poirier around 1700. He remaried in 1708, this time to Marie Chiasson. He fathered eleven children from these two marriages. Anne Poitier sailed from Cherbourg on the 29th of April 1774 aboard the ship Le Thomas destined for La Rochelle. We can assume that she reached Cherbourg only after a long stay in England.
