Family Crest Maurice Véniot, a carpenter from Ile d'Orleans in Canada, married an Acadian by the name of Marguerite Comeau at Port Royal in 1701.

Several Vigneaus or Vigneaux escaped to the Islands of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon on June 17, 1757. Twenty-five of the 108 passengers, who boarded the Woodrop-Sims sailing from Halifax to LeHavre (France) were Vigneaus.
